What kind of sound did you hear?
What kind of sound did you hear at "switch on"?A: For me, speech sounds different from before. It did seem electronic at first, but it's so much clearer.
B: It varies from patient to patient. In my own case my first recognisable sound was a dog barking, but it rapidly improved, although I thought the sound was robotic-sounding at first.
C: At first people sounded like daleks. It took a while before the sound was useful - maybe a few weeks.
Jeremy: The first thing I heard was my audiologist asking me 'Can you hear me' and I replied, joyfully, Yes !! Initially sounds were a bit tinny, robotic and strange but gradually this effect faded as I began to notice differing voices-male , female, accents etc and the full range of environmental sounds.
